Day 1 Process:
In order to begin our journey effectively, you all will need a chance to investigate basic aspects related to all of the body systems. You will complete the tasks listed below by working TOGETHER in your assigned groups. The "divide and conquer" strategy may make your group the first one to finish but I guarantee that it will also make you the last to succeed in learning.
Listen closely as the instructor provides an overview of the lesson and provides you with tips on how to progress through the lesson efficiently.
If at any time you have a question about the lesson, please ask the instructor for clarification. Enjoy and good luck!
Part 1: Anatomy
1) Watch the introductory video on anatomy below
2) Click on the button "Body Systems Worksheets" and download the worksheets for your body systems
3) Use the buttons for the resources in the left column to complete each worksheet and investigate the human body
4) When all members of your group have completed the worksheets for their body system, use the information you found to discuss the purpose of each body system and complete the "Body Systems Concept Map" found by clicking the button below. Copy this Concept Map into a google drawing and share it with your group members so that you all may edit it independently during your discussion.
5) When your group has completed their investigation submit all work by sharing in google drive with the teacher
Part 2:Physiology
1) Each group member must become an expert on one body system.
2) As a group you should discuss who is researching which body system so that there isn't any overlap.
3) Once your body system has been select, use any resource available to research the physiology of the organs associated with that body system.
4) After 30 minutes the instructor will randomly select members from each group to present facts about the physiological roles of the organs within their selected body system.
Part 3: Assessment
1) Once the class has completed Part 1 and 2, or if time runs out, the instructor will begin the assessment portion.
2) A random member from each group will be selected to stand and present facts about their selected body system.
3) Group members will then rearrange as instructed by the teacher so that every student is sitting with an entirely new group.
4) A final review game will be played to determine the victors for the first major A&P assignment!
Part 4 (Extra)
1) Visit the site Blabberize (click the blue button below)
2) Select one body system and create a 1-2 minute summary describing the purpose and composition of that body system
3) Create/Find an image of your body system (see organ system image above next to process summary)
4) Record your 1 minute summary of the body system and share the blabberize file with Mr.C.

WebQuest Resources
BioDigital Human is a useful free software that allows a student to manipulate every aspect of human anatomy. This is useful for identifying all components of every body system, individual organs, and how organs look when afflicted by certain diseases!
Build a Body is a free software that will allow students to assemble each body system independently. A description field is provided for each organ that comprises the body system.
This website provides diagrams for every anatomical component for each body system. It even provides a description of the physiological role for each of the body's components.
Khan Academy is a great resource for video lectures that provide detailed information on body systems, their functions, and diseases associated with them. In order to find relevant videos follow the link provided, scroll down to biology, and then select human biology
